Hopscotch Kidney Fund for Children is a national charity dedicated to helping children with kidney disease.  We work to offer various fun and exciting opportunities for children whether they are in hospital or receiving treatment at home plus offering financial support to parents in times of medical emergencies. 

Hospital Support - There are only 13 paediatric renal units across the country so for many children they are not in their local hospital. This can be extremely upsetting and stressful for the whole family which is why our hospital based support is so important.  We offer funding for various events and activities solely for the benefit of the children.  These events are geared towards the children having FUN and making their time in hospital as stress free as possible, events include: -

Hospital Parties, Day Trips, Ward Entertainers, Cinema Days, Teddy Bear’s Picnics, Tea Parties, Distraction and Ward Toys

Family Support - We strongly support valuable family time so wherever possible try to help finance day trips or weekend breaks (these are especially important for all children in the family and not just the child with kidney problems).  We also offer tailored financial support for much needed household items plus individual requirements for a child.

Emergency Hospital Admission Support, - For any child that is admitted into hospital as an emergency it is extremely upsetting for the whole family.  Parents want and need to be with the child as much as possible and sometimes this can be very expensive.  We feel that this should not be an extra worry that the parents should have at such a time so we try and help with financial grants so that the family can be with the child as much as possible in any medical emergency.
