Pig Brother Pigs

Due to safety regarding the spread of swine flu we have had to make the difficult decision to move Pig Brother to Saturday 1st - Sunday 16th August 2009, this decision was made on the basis that sick children from the charities would be in close contact with pigs and therefore we could not eliminate a risk of cross contamination, on the bright side we can use this additional time to raise further funds and awareness of this very popular event and all the fantastic charities involved. We hope you understand that whilst we would have loved for the event to go ahead as planned the safety and welfare of all involved is our main concern.

Yellow Pig Promotions have organised a charity event "Pig Brother" which will be held at "Old MacDonalds Farm" in Brentwood Essex 1st - 16th August 2009

8 children's charities have been invited to the opening event on 1st August at Old MacDonalds Farm, each Children's charity will be asked to choose a golden ticket upon entering the farm, at 1pm a family of Kune Kune pigs will be unveiled comprising of the mother and 7 piglets, each pig contestant will have a unique number! The children's charities will then name each pig or piglet.

We will begin filming the pigs from then on with a live web feed in their pigpen, and we also will be filming the pigs carrying out tasks and games and releasing funny dubbed clips onto the Pig Brother website, visitors to the farm and also visitors to the website will be able to vote for their favourite pig or piglet and for the last 8 days of the event 1 pig or piglet with the least amount of votes will be eliminated from the competition! The final remaining pig or piglet will be crowned "Pig Brother" winner 2009!

Sean McDonagh from Yellow Pig Promotions said "This event first started off as just a silly idea, then after giving it some thought we realised that it could actually work and also be lots of fun! This event will create great publicity for 8 fantastic children's charities whilst also being both fun and educational and with all money raised from selling advertising on the website and also the farm will be selling vouchers "kid for a quid" entrance tickets, 35% of all funds raised will be donated to the winning charity and the remaining 65% will be divided between the remaining 7 charities. I am really looking forward to the event as it has taken so much time to organise! So if you fancy a bit of fun log onto www.pigbrother.org from 1st August onwards and vote for your favourite pig or piglet! Also if anyone would like to advertise on the site or to make a donation please email info@pigbrother.org after all it’s all for a good cause!"
